Abstract: Background: Sleep plays a crucial role in maintaining mental and physical health. However, young individuals often experience irregular sleep patterns, leading to potential mental health issues. This study examines the relationship between sleep duration, quality, and mental well-being.
Materials and Methods: The study was conducted over six months with a sample of 50 participants aged 16 to 25. A questionnaire was used to gather data on sleep patterns, quality, and mental health symptoms like anxiety, stress, and mood issues. Descriptive statistics and correlation analysis were applied to evaluate the findings.
Results: The results showed that 36% of participants slept less than 6 hours, and 60% reported average or poor sleep quality. These factors were strongly linked to higher levels of anxiety, stress, and mood disturbances. Participants with better sleep quality had fewer mental health issues, emphasizing the importance of restful sleep.
Conclusion: Both the quantity and quality of sleep significantly affect mental health. Promoting better sleep hygiene can help reduce anxiety, stress, and mood problems in young individuals, improving their overall mental well-being.
