A study of stress and quality of life in medically ill patients admitted to a hospital

Abstract: Quality of life has been shown to be negatively affected in patients suffering from illnesses like diabetes mellitus, hypertension and tuberculosis and often found to be associated with higher levels of stress and psychological co-morbidities.Quality of life has also been linked to treatment adherence with poor treatment adherence often associated with poor quality of life. In this study, we aimed to examine the relationship between perceived stress levels, quality of life and treatment adherence in patients hospitalized with medical illnesses.
